My upcoming new album is a bandoneon-piano studio recording in homage to the music of Tom Jobim.
Since 2013 I have been playing steadily as a duo with great bandoneon player Daniele di Bonaventura. Together we published album "Mare Calmo" in 2015, a DVD+CD set containing a selection of original compositions.
Our new record is a homage to great Brazilian composer Antônio Carlos Jobim. Daniele and I selected some less known, yet absolutely outstanding compositions, whose mood and sound would best fit the bandoneon-piano setting. We played solo and duo interpretations, also inviting in the studio three worldwide known artists: Ivan Lins, Jaques Morelenbaum, and Camille Bertault.
The album will be released next fall by French label Bonsaï Music.
